Year 5 and 6 Go Ape Trip
On Friday 17th June, Years 5&6 went to ‘GoApe’, an outdoor adventure centre in Black Park. At around 10 o’clock in the morning, we departed for the trip. The journey only took half an hour, so the teachers took us to an open area of space where we could run around before having lunch. Afterwards, the children in Group 1 were harnessed and briefed on the rules before starting their ‘Treetop’ adventure. At regular 15 minute intervals, the next group did the same.
There were two courses. Everyone started on Course 1, which consisted of bridges with different steps, swinging platforms and a net. Then they could try Course 2, which contained bridges, swinging platforms and a log. The second one was the hardest. Each course contained a zip wire which was an exhilarating experience.
Once a group finished their ‘Treetop’ adventure, they could go and play on the adventure playground.
It was a fun day out, providing lots of time to spend in beautiful woodland, getting exercise and fresh air.
