Junior Production 2017
On Thursday, 16th March our Junior Production entertained and captured the imagination. An array of ‘wild animals’ descended upon St Stephen’s Church in the early afternoon to deliver an eagerly anticipated performance.
Up The Avenue strolled the children, two by two, each adorned in wonderful costume and intricately applied face paint. A convincing menagerie of the fierce and placid, demonstrated how well they had committed lines, lyrics and jokes to memory in a tremendous display of confidence. Choreographed dances from some of our youngest performers entranced our audience with the spirit of the rainforest.
A regular atmospheric rumble of thunder alerted the jungle creatures to a forthcoming storm. An event they feared yet, needlessly so. The quality of acting proved promising amongst a cast that sought to demonstrate their talent. All had a part to play in delivering a wonderfully collaborative endeavour. The children embraced the opportunity to imagine themselves as a creature more used to The Amazon than a leafy avenue.
A delightful afternoon was had by all and the children could be proud of their accomplished performance.
“In the unique Avenue House environment, as well as achieving academically, our children come home with a smile on their faces, enjoy a variety of sports with their friends, sing songs together that they have learnt for concerts – even in the summer holidays! – and are proud of their impressive artwork”
