Houses Of Parliament
Upper Key Stage Two pupils made their way to the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday, 26th September. This centre of political life with a rich and varied history fascinated and children learned all about the traditions, functions and democratic process associated with the UK parliament.
The gothic style architecture overlooking the Thames, hosting centuries of fierce yet respectful debate, may well have inspired a future member who seeks to represent the people at the highest level.
A hotly contested debate saw various arguments delivered with eloquence and exchanges suggested that a little of the venue and its enchantment was rubbing off on pupils determined to gain the upper hand.
Our trip to Westminster provided an incredible insight into the world of British politics.
