Harvest Festival 2018
The Avenue House School Harvest Festival 2018 took place at St Stephen’s Church on Thursday, 4th October. This autumnal event saw our generous school community donate a variety of non-perishables for Ealing Foodbank.
Children throughout the school performed marvellously. Recitals and speeches were delivered in typical fashion - a performance carefully prepared for and positively received by an audience of well-wishers. The Year Six rap went down a storm, communicating another important message, amid many that afternoon, as well as the versatility which our young performers possess.
Startling facts brought home the struggle and plight of those in need, testimony to the increasing prevalence of foodbanks across the UK. It is of concern to learn that in 2018 those requiring help has increased again and more have been seeking assistance from the foodbank than donations have allowed for.
The efforts of all are much appreciated and we hope that our contribution will make a difference.
“Achievement in numeracy is very strong throughout the school since teachers plan effectively to facilitate independent learning.”
