Florence Nightingale

Beech are making models of Florence Nightingale out of clay in art and craft. They have been learning about her life in history.

Autumn Term

Year one have been learning about Antartica and created this frieze of penguins

Summer Term

Bertie Beebot's Beach

In ICT this term Year 1 have been learning how to program Beebots (small robot bees!). We created our own Beebot map of a beach - linking nicely with our History and Geography work on Seasides- and then practised controlling our Beebot friends accurately using the control pad. We have now learned how to write down our instructions and can check them by asking the Beebots to follow them on our map.  Using all the skills we have learned we are beginning to make predictions too. Miss Clark gives us instructions and we have to predict where Bertie and his friends will stop.
