On Wednesday 11th May 2011 at Trailfinders, Avenue House School played four matches against Aston House School. Congratulations all round especially to the huge number of parents and supporters who turned out to cheer us to victory. And it was a resounding victory that we delivered.
In the Year 3/4 Netball, after a tentative start the team delivered a 4-1 win thanks to some strong team play and brilliant shooting from Maryam Khan, who was named “Player of the Match”. We give special mention also to Leah Ellesmere and Anya Uberoi.
In the Year 3/4 Football, after a cracking start the team delivered a sensational win 9-0. We had brilliant shooting from Edward Bingham who scored the “Triple” hat trick and was named “Player of the Match”, with a special mention to Mekhi Ajayi.
In the Year 5/6 Netball, the team dominated the play and delivered a 5-0 win. This was thanks to some co-ordinated team passing and good anticipatory play. Lucy Adey was named “Player of the Match” with special mentions for Alicia Robson, Rosie Glenn and Molly Curtis.
In the Year 5/6 Football, the team delivered a 2-0 win. This was the result of some thoughtful and strong passing, goal keeping and defending. Nicholas Morrison was named “Player of the Match” with special mention for Simon Heath and Daanyaal Mendonca.
Altogether, it was a very positive afternoon of sport which was enhanced by the enthusiasm of the players and supporters, the impeccable manners and general sportsmanship of all involved. Thanks and congratulations to all. The pictures tell their own story.
