Avenue House School - an IAPS Independent School

I am delighted to welcome you to Avenue House School. We are a small, independent Prep school. Our focus is to create a nurturing and stable environment where our pupils can explore, learn and interact in a positive manner. Here, they have the freedom to be themselves whilst learning to be respectful of others.

Our approach to teaching and learning is very much 'hand-in-hand' with our belief that pastoral care underpins everything. Our pastoral care team ensures that wellbeing and mental health concerns are regularly addressed through 1:1 meetings, circle time, PSHEE, Mindfulness, Pupil Voice to name but a few. We know that when a child feels secure and nurtured, academic progress will follow.

Our dedicated and experienced teachers encourage, inspire and invest in each child aided by the small class sizes. All can aspire to achieve their potential and flourish whether their talents are obvious, or initially more deeply hidden! The destination selective schools and scholarship offers of our Year 6 pupils are testament to our success. We share the pride of their parents at their achievements.
