Eco-Schools

Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on a seven-step process to address a variety of environmental themes including litter and waste, healthy living and biodiversity.

Eco-Committee

Children are the driving force behind Eco-Schools.  We have representatives from all year groups on the Committee who help carry out an audit to assess the environmental performance of the schhol.  The pupils decide which environmental themes they want to address and how they are going to do it. Measuring and monitoring are an integral part of the Eco-Schools programme,  providing schools with all the evidence they need to really shout about their environmental success.

Eco-Schools Award

Schools work towards gaining three awards - Bronze, Silver and the prestigious Green Flag award which symbolises excellence in the field of environmental activity.  We have achieved our Silver Award and look forward to continued success.

Eco-Assembly

The Eco-Commitee presented an assembly to the school.

Topping Up the Bird Feeders

Hanwell Carnival

On 18th June some of our children took part in the Hanwell Carnival. Our Year 6 children, under the guidance of Mrs MacKenzie, created an art project from recycled materials for the parade. The Carnival theme was The Wild West and the children decided to make Totem poles from decorated cardboard boxes using materilas which would otherwise be thrown away. The children became very involved and did extra work at home. On the day the children who came to carry the totem poles dressed for the theme as cowboys and cowgirls and native American Indians.
