In Aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital
Saturday 8th November saw Ealing Golf Club transformed for the Avenue House Autumn Gala Evening in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
Tejinder Nanra, who lead members from the Parents Social Committee in organising the very successful evening, provides a write up about the evening:
"The evening kicked off with the Perry Parson's Big Band. After a dinner of succulent chicken in white wine sauce, the auction began. Items ranged from an exclusive Armani bag, to a unique shirt signed by the Barcelona football team. Marco Bussadori was the perfect auctioneer. He entertained, cajoled and inspired the guests to part with their money to benefit the children at Great Ormond Street. Bidding was at times frenetic; the highly desirable signed picture of Pele and Mohammed Ali finally going for over £500 after some very tense bidding.
With the auction, raffle, flowers and personal donations, we totalled an amazing £3,840 on the evening. I think we can all agree the event was a phenomenal success.
I was very touched and inspired by people’s generosity and would like to thank everyone involved, especially the Parents Social Sub-Committee for their time and determination, the Governors and teachers. Also the parents who so kindly donated auction items - without you we could not have raised so much. And finally a big thank you to everyone who came along for making it such an enjoyable and successful evening."
